Most of you are already aware that you can do the trainer fly cheat to get Mew in Cerulean City.

However, in Yellow/Red/Blue if you can find a trainer to trainer fly on you can basically get any Pokémon in the whole wide game.

First of all, we'll explain the trainer fly trick.

What you basically need to do is to step in FRONT of a trainer, not sideways, or this trick will not work.

Make sure you save your game before doing this trick.

Now, walk in to the trainer's field of sight and before the trainer can notice you, quickly press start(you'd be good to do this if you spam the start button while walking forward, but stop when you know you're in the range where the trainer can actually see you), and what you want to do now, is to either have a Pokémon that knows Teleport/Whirlwind or be in a dungeon and use an escape rope.

What will happen now is that the trainer will notice you but you will fly away from him. This disables both your start menu and select.

You now need to face a trainer in order to reset the buttons but make sure that you are in the same position that when you faced the trainer to trainer fly from.

The game's memory will think that you are fighting the trainer you previously would have gotten to fight but you escaped from.

Now make sure you either get killed or win this fight and make sure to set the warp point to the nearest possible warp point for a Pokémon Center. What you want to do now is to find a wild pokémon, any wild pokémon and basically do nothing, just growl or do leer or any stats that reduce the stat of a Pokémon.

The way this works is that each Pokémon has a specified stat.

Let's say you want a Ivysaur.

The special stat for Ivysaur is 9.

You'd need to either face a Nidorina or a Nidorino with stats above this and lower any normal stat according to that special stat.

Let's say you meet a Nidorina(this has the highest rate of success), you'd want to lower Nidorina's attack to 9 by using Growl 6 times.

This will set the memory value for Ivysaur the next time you enter the previous area from where you trainer flied from.

What will happen next is that you will find the Pokémon, but the catch rate of that Pokémon will be as hard as a Mew because the game doesn't think the Pokémon will be catchable at that very point of the game or that it is very rare and resets the catch value to the highest possible number.

Once you've caught the Pokémon, it will actually be at Level 1 and if you let it battle once and get experience, it will immideately go to level 100 because the game will think if < than 2 reset exp to >65535

Which is basically the highest possible value for a 16 bit binary code.

Now you have gotten the Pokémon you want, and gotten it to level 100!
