If you have a goof-off (or a jester) get it to level 20 it should turn into a Sage.

P.S. I play on the original NES game so it may not work for some of you, you may have to get a little higher or lower level.

Go to Ruiden's tavern and go up the stairs. Make lots of new people (like 50) and then go downstairs and recruite the newly made people three at a time and remove the cloth that they are equiped with.

They sell for 7gold each so thats why you need to make about 50 or more, it all depends on the amount of gold you desire. This cheat is useful only in the beinging of the game because once you reach Kol town you should find battles that will
give you like 2,000 per battle.
