While none of the cars you have that appear to qualify for this event will actually qualify for the full upgrade path - that will fail - my experience is that you can apply the upgrades and make the X-Button (race anyway) choice and have a real fighting chance at winning these. Though the other drivers appear to be a bit more aggressive than in previous races... I used the Mazda 3 for this and you can too!

Prototype Speed Showdown
Note that the 2003 Bentley #7 Team Bentley Speed 8 (among others) will APPEAR to apply to this race, but when you get in them the game will tell you that it cannot upgrade the car to the level required by the race. Of the cars that apply and that you are likely to have only the Bentley has the X-Class rating... The thing is you CAN choose to race anyway - something that I decided (mostly out of frustration) to do and low and behold I had no trouble whatsoever in winning the race...
