Introduction

The world of Ivalice is in danger. The two huges Empires of Rozzaria and Archadia are in war and we are in the middle of all, in a small town, known as Rabanastre. In the game we are a teenager, named Vaan, who is committed to end this pointless War.
We may forget all we know about the olds Final Fantasy and their childish story-lines. Final Fantasy is grown up and not just in terms of the action of story. Now we are face-to-face with real life important themes like the meaning of liberty or even suicide.
Final Fantasy decidied to change the meaning of strategy RPG's as we know. And I have to say they were correct. The new Final Fantasy may not be perfect but it is close and it is a mark in all the games and consoles history.

Graphics

They use basically the graphics of a new generation: we can see an open world with people of all kinds of races. But at the first look we can find a problem: the low resolution. Of course we forget all that when we first see the amazing cut-scenes. They are a demonstration of the ps2 power and the best from any game in that console. Sometimes we just see them to look at the perfection in the characters face, because we can really fell their emotions.

Sound

It is the music we are used to from any Final Fantasy; it's very good but at first we can tell. But sometimes we go in the street and without even noticing, we are whisteling some songs from the game.
About the character's voices there is not much to tell: very good as in any Square's work.

Gameplay

Once again Final Fantasy takes a risk and once again it goes right. We have a all new revolutionary real-time gameplay instead of the classic turn based. In this game we (along with our party) face opponents in real time so when we are hitting them they can be killing us too. Of course this gives us much more to think because some enemys are faster then us and so they can hit us more times. But for all the classic hardcore players, yes we can still use the old gameplay, so do not worry. Still it is fun to use the new one because that way we can easily escape enemys by simply pressing R2.
But the most important update: the Gambit System. This way we can tell the characters what to do in any situation. So for the people that don't want to pass hours just leveling up characters, they have their dream come true. Just find a place with lots of enemys and the party will fight alone.
A great improvement, as usually.

Lastability

There is always so much to do in this game and we find ourselves going back and forward just to kill "one more enemy".
Because this is not a normal game you can not finish the main story in less the about 50 hours but if you really want to finish 100% I can gurantee that not even 100 will be enough.
As normal in any good RPG game we will find the famous sidequests and this is not an exception: we have the addictive hunts. And if you want to finish them all you must kill the legendary Yiazmat ( you can be sure you will remember this boss for ever...).
So in the end you may have to be facing Ivalice for years but that will be just fun.

Overall

To finish: this is a great game, probably the best and longest for PS2. It has an amazing story and a very good and inventive gameplay. You can play it for years in a row and never get tired.
So I end up giving the score of 98% (the best a game can get because as I usually say 100% is only for God and 99% only for me)
Thank you for reading this, so now what are you still doing here?...Oh wait you are probably playing it by now...

Final Score: 100%
