Always keep an eye out for a bargain when buying fields in Farming Simulator 23. Make sure you figure out the best fields for your money. The way to find good value is to divide the cost of the land by the acreage. You will probably find that you will need to drive a little out of your way but the investment in time finding a field that is a bargain will be worth it.
Visit the store to upgrade your farm implements whenever possible. Invest in machinery that can do two things at once as this will enable you to save in-game time, and allow you to sell existing machinery. For example, if you purchase the 'Pottinger Terrasem C6F' seeder you will be able to seed directly without any previous cultivating or plowing beforehand, this means you can sell your existing seeder and cultivator.
There's no point having multiples of the same machinery. It is more beneficial to sell duplicate implements and use the money to buy something else you don't have.
Don't be afraid to go back to sleep and hibernate until the next month if you get up one day and discover there is nothing to do. For example, you wake up and find your crops are still growing, and they don't need herbicide or fertilizer and your chickens have sufficient food and there aren't many eggs to collect. Returning to bed and sleeping will allow you to skip some game time.
Money is tight when you first begin playing Farming Simulator 23. One way in which you can save money at the start of the game is to disable A.I. workers from refilling fuel, seeds, and fertilizer on your farm and instead do it yourself. Just get what you need from a dealer in town. You can always enable the setting once you have accumulated plenty of cash.
Although it's convenient to buy things like fertilizer, seed, herbicide, and fuel from your own farm it is far better to drive around town and pick up what you need in order to save 20% and get the best price. All you need to do is check the prices in the menu, bookmark the location, and drive there.
At some point during Farming Simulator 23 you will want to sell a piece of equipment on your farm in order to upgrade. Do not sell that equipment through the game menu, you can get about 20% more for your money by driving to the dealer and hand-delivering the equipment yourself.
Don't waste money buying chicken feed for your chickens as they will eat just about any grain you have grown. Make a point of storing some grain in your silo and use that to feed them. All you need to do is drive your trailer over and dump some grain into the chicken feed area.
There is no particular crop you need to plant first in Farming Simulator 23, you are free to plant what you want. It is recommended that at the start of the game you plant and harvest 'Grain Crops' as you will have the machinery to do so. Grain Crops are: Wheat, Barley, Oats, Canola, Soybeans and Sorghum. In order to plant and harvest Grapes, Olives, Sunflowers, Corn and Potatoes, Sugar Beats and Cotton you will need different machinery.
You can increase your yield bonus in Farming Simulator 23 with herbicides, fertilizer, and plowing. Just hop off your tractor and walk through your fields. When you do this a pop-up window will appear on the screen showing you if you need to apply weed killer to your crop, fertilizer, or plow your fields. If you perform any of these three actions when instructed you will receive bonuses that will essentially amount to doubling your crop yield. It is therefore recommended that you invest in some inexpensive weed killer, fertilizer, and fertilizer implements for your tractors. Also look to buy a cheap plow as soon as you have saved enough money as it will help you to prevent weeds early in the game.
Don't forget that you will get a reduced yield if you try to harvest in the rain. Farming Simulator 23 will tell you this only once, so you need to remember. Simply wait out any storm, and do other chores when it's raining.
