Preface to Unlocking District 9

The process by which District 9 is to be unlocked is slightly different than was the case with all of the previous Districts and you should take note of that. The most reasonable speculation for the reasons behind this change of approach suggests that the alterations are the result of a number of minor issues that add up to the need to take the unlocking slower than usual.

This confluence of circumstance includes the fact that Halloween is the next official event on the schedule (a fact that was officially Tweeted in confirmation by same), the short-fuse for that event being exacerbated by the IP cross-over for the Family Guy / Simpsons TV shows for the special episode, and to head-off player burn-out what with the QfS community just coming off of the largest and most finger-intensive event in the history of the game (so far).

The following are verified facts with respect to the pre-release unlock requirements for District 9 - so make sure you have all your little duckies in a row mates:

  1. District 8 must be fully completed - including and up to its final Mission: Freaks and Geeks Pt. 7.

  2. Jailhouse Meg Outfit needs to be completed in order to begin the Quahog Prison Blues Mission.

  3. Quahog Prison Blues Mission must be flagged and started.

  4. Precious Metals Mission must be completed.

  5. What the Deuce Mission must be flagged.

  6. Build-a-Blimp Mission must be flagged and completed.

Once the above conditions are met, the District 9 Land Slots will unlock, and then it starts getting interesting! As in out-in-the-water Vintage-Time-Traveling-Blimp launch base interesting... We are just saying.

With all of the above in mind one key piece of strategic advice that we offer is this: use this forced downtime to complete unlocking the left-hand-strip of new land expansion slots. While the timers are running on those, you should be aggressive about banking coin because you are going to need it.

Now is not the time to shop for decorations and optional Buildings.

Opening District 9 brings the Story Line back with gusto! Mucho Gusto!

Note: as previously noted before you get too far this is NOT the final District in the game... In fact the game does not actually include ALL of the Districts it is meant to have... Yet.

Even with the addition of this final original one that came in the middle of the 4th of July Event, it is NOT all of the Districts that the game will have, just all of the ones (with the Entertainment DIstrict and Downtown District added) that the current crop of Characters require.

Take heart mates, the expansion of Quahog is an ordained fact and each new district and each new event will add more and more quests, missions, tasks, Buildings, objects, and... Well, you get the idea!

The end of the first Epic Event (we previously thought that the Full Moon Event was Epic, but that was before we laid our eyes - and fingers - on the Quahog Comic Con Event so now we actually know what an Epic Event is in terms of Quest for Stuff, don't we?) has dropped tantalizing Hints as to the impending release of the locks on District 9 and the eventual completion of the TV Crew as well as certain other key Characters and Buildings.

That and of course the addition of more land and Expansion Slots which we all desperately need!

So, yeah, that said, all of that noted, and even the unspoken factors taken into consideration, things are looking up mighty fine in Quahog this evening!

The Addition of Districts 8 and 9

With the addition of the final two districts for the core game (Districts 8 and 9) we now have complete access for ALL of the Buildings (and Characters) that were put in place in the game at its launch. There is more to this than just that however!

In the midst of the 4th of July Holiday Event these two new districts were added to the game locked, and along with them they ALSO added new Land Expansion Slots for the previously added districts. What does that mean?

If you look to the far-left-hand-side of the map, you will see that a total of SIX new Land Expansion Slots were added to the Districts on that side. These are - from the top to the bottom along that side:

1. Land Expansion Block 1L (1d 0h 0m 0s) at the cost of $25,000

2. Land Expansion Block 2L (1d 0h 0m 0s) at the cost of $30,000

3. Land Expansion Block 3L (1d 0h 0m 0s) at the cost of $35,000

4. Land Expansion Block 4L (1d 0h 0m 0s) at the cost of $40,000

5. Land Expansion Block 5L (1d 0h 0m 0s) at the cost of $45,000

6. Land Expansion Block 6L (1d 0h 0m 0s) at the cost of $50,000

That long line of new Land Expansion Slots will set you back a total of $225K plus the time required (which will be based on how many workers you have available).

In addition to these six new Land Expansion Slots on the left-hand-side, the right-hand-side has a narrow corridor of new Land Expansion Slots as well - that run in a narrow line between the existing districts and the two new ones (Districts 8 and 9) as follows:

1. Land Expansion Block 1R (12h 0m 0s) at the cost of $10,000

2. Land Expansion Block 2R (12h 0m 0s) at the cost of $10,000

3. Land Expansion Block 3R (12h 0m 0s) at the cost of $10,000

4. Land Expansion Block 4R (12h 0m 0s) at the cost of $10,000

Assuming that you have been fully participating in all of the events and obtaining all of the new structures these additional Land Expansion Slots will be of considerable value and use to you, since it is virtually a certainty that you will have run out of room for placing objects, structures, and the like long before you reach the point that you can unlock the next district!

Free Clams

As the Holiday Event begins to wind down you will notice a new icon has appeared in your town - a large Clam over an NPC head. That is the Free Clams notification - basically it asks you to watch a video ad in order to obtain some free clams.

If you watch the video you get +2 Free Clams - the video is for American Dad (the TV Show) so it is pretty painless, and why not?

If you are really bored - or just want more free Clams - you can continue to watch video as long as it prompts you to, and for each prompt you will get two more free clams. Just saying....

District 9: Downtown

This is the District that is intended to serve as the seat of government - which means it is the one in which you will obtain Mayor West and Tom Tucker (in addition to other things). The Hall and the TV Station are the obvious new Buildings - who can say what the as of now concealed ones are?

Preparations for unlocking this new District should include - at a minimum - unlocking the four Land Expansion Slots that border it, as well as leveling ALL of the existing Characters in your town to at least Level 10 (but higher would be better). We cannot stress how critical it will be for you to have unlocked and added as many Land Expansion Slots as you can before you begin the process of unlocking and completing all that is District 9!

The reason for that is so that there is no pressure on you in the process of leveling the new Characters, which you will also want to get to Level 10 as quickly as you can. And placing any and all of the Buildings and the structures that are currently in storage.

Pre-Unlocking District 9 Hints

It is fascinating that the dust had barely settled on the Quahog Comic Con Mega-Event before the wizards behind QfS's primary and core development teams began to feed us Hints and information about District 9. Again, and not to put too fine a point upon the matter, Comic Con has barely settled and we are already being primed for the next phase in the main story line!

Among the Hints that pop up with the new focus on District 9 is a window with Tom Tucker titled "A Time-Traveling Adventure" that includes the following hint:

"Help Stewie and Brian build a time-traveling blimp! Unlock Tom Tucker, Mayor West, and several other favorites!"

Get Jailhouse Meg!

The second content hint is also a bit of a boosting Quest in that the message announcing her new outfit also lays claim to the notion that succeeded in unlocking this outfit will have a positive impact on how quickly District 9 ends up being added and unlocked!

The official message reads: "Meg is back from the slammer! You can take Meg out of prison, but you can't take prison out of Meg! Get this outfit now and boost your Progress in the upcoming District 9!

Precious Metal

The first official post-District 8, post-Quahog Comic-Con Mission naturally has the focus around Stewie Griffin and his time machine. Well, that actually makes a twisted sort of sense really, when we think about it...

Clearly Stewie and his sidekick Brian are going to factor in a major way for the expansion of the Districts from here on out, and that is only as it should be! After all the lad is a bloody genius!

Auxiliary Land Expansion Event

With the end of Quahog Comic Con and Hints of speeding up the unlocking of District 9, the wizards have taken mercy upon the residents of Quahog and have unlocked yet another strip of Land Expansion Content in the form of three large sections along the far left (west) edge of our Quahog. Excellent!

The Auxiliary Land Expansion Strip (officially to be known from here on as "Land Expansion Strip v2" consists of the following, from north-to-south (or top-to-bottom):

    Land Expansion Block 1: $60K Coin plus 1d 6h 0m 0s Clearing Timer.

    Land Expansion Block 2: $70K Coin plus 1d 10h 0m 0s Clearing Timer.

    Land Expansion Block 3: $80K Coin plus 1d 12h 0m 0s Clearing Timer.

If you are paying attention - and you were socking away Coin throughout the Comic Con Event like we hope you were, you should have sufficient funds to unlock - at a minimum - at least two (2) of these expansion slots - and with any luck and diligent savings on your part, all three (3) land expansion slots - which will require you to spend a grand total of $210K!

For the record we were able to bank sufficient fundage - specifically after the purchase of all three of these land expansion slots, that left us with exactly $19,598 Coin - so basically almost broke.

With any luck the delay between when the land expansion slots are free (36 hours) and when the District 9 hullabaloo begins, we will at least have sufficient time to bank enough to cover the costs of the first story-based building, right? Well, here is to hope anyway!

Quahog Prison Blues Pt. 1

Meg returns home from prison, having served out the sentence that was imposed for hiding her escapee boyfriend while the cops were looking for him.

Notes: While it may not seem like it, the resources that are required for this one will actually come pretty easy in our experience, and that being the case this is NOT one of the missions you should try to rush by spending Clams. We want to emphasize that - there is so much else going on that you need to be aware of this.

You are going to need to bank a LOT of Coin in the run-up to unlocking District 9 - both to pay for Buildings that you will need to complete missions, AND perhaps more significantly, to pay for Land Expansion Slots, of which there are more than just a few thanks to the nature of this sort of Mission.

Need we remind you that in addition to the three new Land Expansion Slots that appeared on the far left side of the town after you completed the Comic-Con / District 8 Missions, there are also the Land Expansion Slots that will appear once District 9 is unlocked?

Take all of that and combine it with the Buildings you will need to pay Coin for, and you can see you are going to need lots and lots of Coin. With that in mind then you should view this Mission - and the Blimp one - as opportunity to relax, take things slow and casual, and bank Coin and unlock new land as you Progress. There is also the bonus of finally being able to sell off objects you no longer need, and the challenge of re-doing your town so it makes more sense.

Take all of that in stride, have fun while you are doing it - remember this is a game, the point here is to have fun - and just all around coast while these missions work themselves out!

Create Jailhouse Meg:

  • x20 Poop Bucket (Seamus, Mort, Chris Tasks)

  • x12 Blue Glass (Peter Task / Stop 'N' Shop / Quahog Mini-Mart)

  • x8 Soap (Connie, Joe Tasks)

  • x5 Tattoo Machine (Lois, Dr. Hartman, Meg Tasks)

Once you have completed building Meg's Prison Outfit you shift to that in order to obtain the Task for this Mission...

Successfully completing this Mission and its associated Quest will reward you with $500 and 350 XP and Unlocks the Quahog Prison Building (Purchase Price = $4K + 2h Build Time) under the Buildings Tab in the In-Game Store.

Special Expansion #1

Every now and then the game gets a special content expansion - what is essentially a special addition to the game that usually includes tweaks to the existing game system as well as something new, and this time around the Android platform received the Special Expansion before the iOS side did - but that is OK! Once iOS gets it the wait will totally be worth it!

Why? Oh, we will tell you why! The why is because Special Expansion #1 includes the following very widely anticipated and desired elements:

1. Loading Screen Updated

The main loading screen graphic reverts to the customary version that was present prior to the change to the Comic-Con graphic - and we are good and ready to have that go away!

2. New Character Locator Icon/Button added to the game!!!

If you play The Simpsons: Tapped Out there is no need to explain this to you - but if you don't then there is... Basically this Update adds a new button to the top-left corner of the screen - a button that accesses the new Character Locator!

You will never need to wander around the town again looking for a particular character and wonder just where the heck they are?! Now all you have to do is tap the character locator button and it will take you right to them!

A feature the old hands have been pleading for practically since the game was launched, the CL will very quickly become your most valued utility in the game, to be sure! Basically it lists - alphabetically - all of the Characters who are not actively on task, so you can jump right to them.

3. Default Icon Outfit Changed

For the Comic-Con Event the default icon was Peter in his Captain Hammered Outfit - now it is back to regular old Peter thank you wizards... By the way, did you know that while the Quahog Comic-Con event was an event in its own right, it was also a massive homage to the creative spark that is Joss Whedon?

No joke - the entire event is literally chocker-blocks full of Whedonest references, starting with its special guest stars and cast right down to the Mission themes, the character alter-egos, and the superhero set! We are not going to just give it to you, but if you dig a little bit, we think you will start to peel-away the layers!

We will start you with some Hints: Titan A.E. (2000), Firefly (2002–2003), Serenity (2005), Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog (2008), Comic-Con Episode IV: A Fan's Hope (2011), then start thinking comic books (and not just the ones that Joss wrote mind you)... Are you fan enough to know who the inspiration was for Captain Hammered? Hint: he was a premium in this event...

4. Item and Object SALES!!!

That's right you can now sell all of those extra objects you bought too many of when you thought that there would be plenty of room, and some of the objects that you thought would work with your town design and theme but really, no. Just NO.

Well now you can sell that crap - get it out of your town - make room for more crap! Oh, wait, no you can't - you cannot do any of this stuff until we get that Update. LOL.

Build-a-Blimp Pt.6

Stewie wants to put together the control panel...

Stewie: Raid Impounded Cars (8h) $80 and 50 XP (at The Quahog Police Station)

Brian: Hit on Guard Dog (8h) $80 and 50 XP (at The Quahog Police Station)

I've thought it many times - now I am going to say it - Stewie and Brian make a great team!

Completing this rewards you with $450 and 300 XP.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Build-a-Blimp Pt.7

Stewie wants to Fly the Blimp - which means that Stewie needs to complete the Blimp...

This is actually the most important segment of this Mission, as it puts the importance of the Blimp Fort in the harbor to the fore. In fact you can actually access the completion window for the Blimp by tapping the Fort as well as the usual way, by tapping the Mission Icon in the Mission List.

They have now introduced to you all of the various tasks that are actually required to complete this Time-Traveling Blimp! Those are:

  • x8 Blimp Frame: Stewie, Brian, and Lois Tasks.

  • x10 Blimp Propellers: Stewie, Brian, Seamus, and Quagmire Tasks.

  • x5 Blimp Plutonium: Stewie, Brian, and Meg Tasks.

  • x10 Blimp Control Panel: Stewie, Brian, Lois and Joe Tasks.

Completing this is almost as important as completing the Jailhouse Meg Outfit/Costume - at least it is in terms of moving forward for unlocking District 9 anyway. Actually you should be very close to completing the Jailhouse Meg Mission - you will certainly complete that before you do the Blimp.

With that in mind let us take a look at what is required for this Mission:

1. Complete the Blimp

You will accomplish that by doing the various tasks that result in obtaining the parts you still need. We suggest that you focus on them one-at-a-time as that tends to be the most effective method for moving forward in the game.

When it absolutely has to be there overnight!
When it absolutely has to be there overnight!

Blimp Hanger

Once you reach this stage in the Build a Blimp Mission a new building will be added to the Buildings Tab in the In-Game Store called the "Blimp anger."

This is a special purpose / resource spawning structure that is similar to the Hi-Yah's Dojo / Glam Bam Thank You Ma'am / pLace in that in addition to presenting the appearance of supporting the Quest / Mission and its vehicle (The Blimp) it also serves as the source for one of the resources required for building the quest object (Propellers) so it has a functional element.

That is fortuitous since it also costs 125 Clams - being a Premium Structure - which will cause most players who do not spend real-world money in the game readily very hesitant to add it to their Quahog. And who can blame them? After all, even with the new land and the ability to sell-off extra structures and/or objects it is not like there is an abundance of land to place even the Buildings that are required by the main story, let alone optional ones!

New Structure: Blimp Hanger (125C)

The Blimp Hanger drops important materials - always drops the Rare resource "propeller" of which 10 are required to complete building the Time-travel Blimp... If added to your game the most appropriate location for placement is the Quahog Airport.

The Blimp Hanger pays out $750 Coin and 475 XP every 8h.

Completing this rewards you with $450 and 300 XP and, of course, The Blimp!

Time for a Sexy Party

SPECIAL WEEKEND EVENT - 19 Sept thru 22 Sept 2014

And it is time for Stewie to take center stage - after all this section and District is all about Stewie - right? Right! And as it turns out Lois has not been very discrete in hiding her special magazines - which is how Stewie ended up finding a copy of Plaything Magazine!

Note: This is a special weekender Limited Time Event - it begins on Friday, 19 September, and ends at 3:00 PM on Monday, 22 September. In that brief four-day span you need to obtain ALL of the resources required to make the Sexy Stewie Captain's Suit!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Guide Image

Time for a Sexy Party Pt. 1

Stewie has discovered a copy of one of the magazines Lois keeps hidden under the bathroom sink - and Stewie decides to read it (despite the confusion it causes him)...

Read Plaything Magazine (3m) $5 and 3 XP.

Completing this Quest rewards you with $750 and 475 XP.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Time for a Sexy Party Pt. 2

After reading the magazine from cover to cover Stewie arrives at some confused conclusions, the forefront of which is that he desperately requires a new wardrobe! The best means of accomplishing that is to complete the Quest and gather the resources for the Sexy Stewie Outfit!

Create Sexy Stewie Outfit

Thanks to the wonders of modern science - and pornography - Stewie knows just what he wants and needs out of life - and that begins with a sailor suit! No, seriously... Just go with it and gather the following resources in order to complete it, right? Right!

  • x20 Baby Powder (Peter, Lois, and Human Rupert Tasks / Tiny Tots Preschool)

  • x15 Dulcet Tones (Lois, Seamus, and Peter Tasks)

  • x6 Pink Champagne (Carter, Jerome, and Buzz Killington Tasks)

  • x3 Poncy Hats (Seamus Task / Yacht Club / Lobster Shantys)

(Remember you still need to complete the Blimp - or do you?)

I really wanted this new outfit - probably because it is rather cool, and certainly due to the feelings of regret that I still have over not getting Pee Pants the Inebriated Hobo Clown on my main account (I have it on one of the secondary accounts that we are using for the guide - the one on my iPhone).

I failed to get Pee Pants on the main account (iPad) largely because contrary to what the game claims, the odds for obtaining each of the resources are not as cut-and-dried or as easy as they lead you to believe! I was not willing to spend Clams then (and I am NOT willing to now) but the clock is running out!

It is now early in the AM on Monday, 22 September, which is the final day for this Weekender Special Event and I am nowhere close to having the resources required for this. As of 2:10 AM I have only 9/20 Baby Powder, 3.15 Dulcet Tones, and 2/6 Pink Champagne (I have all three of the Captain's Hat but I have had those since day one and that may have been why I thought this would be easier).

Considering that I have been logging in and recycling Tasks every 2 hours like clockwork throughout the weekend you would think that I would have obtained better results, but nope, not so much really... The plan is to continue to log in every 2 hours - we will just have to see where that takes us?

Completing this Quest rewards you with $250 and 150 XP.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Pretty in Pink

This is a limited time timed Mission - when it begins there is a 15d 4h timer associated with it.

According to the Mission description - Mysterious Jack-o'-Lantern! - this is clearly a Halloween related mission of sorts... Once a day, collect a piece of magical candy buckets! Earn sufficient candies to unlock Pink Brian!

Pink Brian Requirements

x3 Kookie Nut Pop

x3 Not-a-Finger

x4 Sixty-Four Thousand Dollar Bars

Once a day, a bucket filled with magical candy will appear in Quahog. Check in daily before the candy buckets disappear on October 4th, 12PM PDT.

Note: This Mission is not as obvious as you might think as it is very VERY easy to miss the wandering candy bucket. They are each a different colour depending on the type of candy, there is only ONE per day, and you actually need to hunt for it. In my experience they tend to be either on or near the sidewalk off of your roads, so that is a good place to start looking, but bear in mind that they CAN be concealed behind the upper floors of a building if it blocks the view of the sidewalk or the road behind it!

Helpful Hint: If you are having trouble locating the special Candy Drop each day, the following tactic worked VERY well for me: pinch in for a close view of the map, then slowly work your way along each of the streets. If the candy is hiding behind a building, what you are looking for are the white sparkling stars that mark its location.

Once you find a cloud of white sparkling stars, tap in its general area and you WILL collect the candy! Remember to complete this collection and thus the Mission/Quest you only need to obtain a total of 10 of the candies, divided out into x3 Kookie Nut Pop, x3 Not-a-Finger, x4 Sixty-Four Thousand Dollar Bars.

These will appear one per day, and there is still enough days left for you to complete this as long as you actively seek out and collect them! This trick will make that a certainty.

Completing this Quest rewards you with $500 and 350 XP, and the Pink Brian Outfit (No Build Required).

Part II. In Which District 9 is Unlocked

This is what we have been working towards all along even if it was not obvious all the time, but once you Progress the Mission Build a Blimp to the point that you have actually built the Blimp and it is tethered to the Blimp Base, even though you lack the Plutonium to activate its time circuits (which by the way is a clear homage to the Back to the Future movie series) District 9 Unlocks.

Now when we say that District 9 Unlocks what we mean is that the Unlock District 9 capability - the "Let's Go" Button on the District pop-up - is unlocked and can thus be activated. Yay!

So technically this new District is unlocked and the process begins with the Mission What the Deuce!

The Redemption of District 9

Before we actually begin the process of rehabilitating District 9 which is aka Downtown, there are some steps that must be taken first, starting with clearing the debris from the land that we just unlocked. Which is why we made the point earlier to comment that the nice fat gap in time between the end of the Quahog Comic-Con Event and this point in time was fortunate in that it allowed you to bank a nice chunk of Coin. Which you hopefully took to heart mates because from here on out this is not what you might politely describe as an inexpensive proposition!

So first, clear some land - as in avail your labor force of the Land Expansion Process!

1. District 9 Land Block 1 - Cost = $14K Timer = 20h

2. District 9 Land Block 2 - Cost = $14K Timer = 20h

3. District 9 Land Block 3 - Cost = $14K Timer = 20h

Right then, first off we strongly recommend that you clear BOTH of the two land blocks that you initially have access to at the same time. If you only have a single laborer (how is that possible??) now might just be a good time to use some of the Clams you are hoarding and buy a second one.

That 20h timer is going to slow you down, but eventually it WILL run out, at which point you will now have access to the Channel 5 Building - or what is left of it - and so the first part of the current Mission, which is to repair the Channel 5 Building!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Guide Image

Helpful Hint: Once you have reached this point and the 20h timer required to clear away the first two Land Expansion Slots is engaged, you should set all of the Characters who are not actively working on current Missions to any task that is 16h or 20h long.

The reason for this is simple: you have those 20h timers for the Land anyway, and the longer timer tasks also happen to offer larger rewards. You want to bank as much Coin as you can prior to completing the Land timers - and that especially counts if for whatever reason you either did not bank sufficient funds to pay for what is coming or, more likely, you spent a lot of the Coin you did bank on things like the Watch Tower, Buildings that are part of quests, or decorations.

Using that timer to bank a nice chunk of Coin is just smart. We will see you in 20 hours!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

You should also try to immediately start clearing the third land block as soon as you have access to it - you will of course have access to the Channel 5 Building at the same time as you gain access to clear the third block, so you should plan on doing them both at the same time. That will require you to spend another $14K for the Land Expansion Block, and $22K to repair Channel 5.

Repairing Channel 5: Cost = $22,000 / Timer = 8 hours.

Once it is repaired, every 8 hours the Channel 5 building will generate a tax of $45 and 30 XP. And of course gaining access to and repairing the building ALSO gives you access to the new character Tom Tucker, who is a news anchor at the station.

There is also a new object for your game - the Channel 5 News Truck - which you might want or not, your call. The News Truck costs $18000 to purchase and has a 16 hour build timer. Once it is built it provides a tax revenue of $40 and 25 XP every 6 hours. It ALSO is a resource source as it can drop the Satellite resource which you will need for the resource collection to fully unlock Tom Tucker. It MAY also apply to other quests - we just don't know right now.

Guide Image

Coming Soon

The Tom Tucker Character

Gaining access to the Channel 5 Building means that you can fully unlock Tom Tucker - but that task requires you to obtain the following resource collection:

  • 20 Microphones (Stewie, Chris, Brian Tasks)

  • 12 Action Slates (Brian Task / Quahog 5 News)

  • 10 Satellites (Peter and Stewie Tasks / Channel 5 News Van / Tom Tucker’s Trailer)

  • 8 Mustache Creams (Dr Hartman and Stewie Tasks)

You can also skip the collecting and pay 1,120 Clams to purchase him (are you insane?!).

Completing this rewards you with $500 and 350 XP.

Adding Tom Tucker back into your game will give Jake Tucker his father back - and despite the mean things that Jake has to say about is father, that upside-down faced kid will no doubt be happy to be reunited with him! Adding Tucker into your game will also complete The Newsroom Collection (Reward = 35 Clams), and add his character to the FaceSpace website.

Serendipity #2 - The Sell Button

An often frustrating side-effect of the various special and holiday events that we have enjoyed so far in QfS is the unfortunate duplication of prizes effect - that is to say that, in the process of going about your ordinary average run-of-the-mill special and Holiday Event activities, a player often finds themselves on the receiving end of a wide variety of prizes.

While getting one (and sometimes depending on the prize two) of these wonderful prizes can be viewed as cause for celebration - when you are working on trying to generate excitement over the tenth such duplicate prize, the process can take some serious acting chops - we are just saying.

So the addition today (1 September 2014) of the newly game mechanic-bedonked expansion content - among which is the long-desired very well received Character Locator Button / Icon - of the Sell Button to the standard interface menu for object movement truly is cause to celebrate!

Limited List of Objects to Sell

Sadly enough the list of objects that can be sold using the new Sell Button is, at least for the moment, limited to the strategic space-gulping sorts. And sadly still, the piles and piles - and piles - of Fireworks are NOT on that list of objects that can be sold via the New Sell Button.

There is however, a good chance that this was simply an unfortunate oversight, and the matter will be taken in hand and corrected before some young character ends up losing a hand by early detonation of stacks and stacks of the fireworks that quite literally litter the land in some of the Quahogs we have visited!

You will be relieved to know that the very first thing that we did on our Quahog was to sell off all of the extra Gardens we were cursed with - err - gifted with - during the Full Moon Event. What did YOU sell? Seriously - comment below.

Serendipity #3: Farming

Once you reach this point in the game you can start to seriously consider dismantling and selling off the office Buildings for your Coin Farms, as you should have more than sufficient regular buildings so that you no longer need to have them.

That actually works in your favor as it has been a while - and several special events - since the last land expansion process, so you are probably looking at tighter and tighter land space in terms of open land to place Buildings.

One aspect of this is roads - we actually need them in the game as they have a functional purpose, which is to channel the traffic of the Characters - otherwise not having them would free up loads of placement space. That said you should even in the most dire of circumstances be able to tighten up building placement and make additional room without making your town look horrible.

Remember while there are no points for a good looking town - we give you points for a good looking town!

Adding Mayor West

While the process of adding Mayor West to your game and your Quahog is part of the Mission system, we thought you would appreciate having the details right here, right now, in case you decide that the adding of him is a priority in your game...

Step 1. Adding Mayor West to Your Quahog

Originally it was thought that Mayor West would be automatically added to the game with the establishment of the Government Buildings - City Hall in particular - as the game story progressed and District 9 was unlocked. As it turns out that was NOT the case.

The building you must add to your game to add Mayor West is his home - which is called the Mayor's Mansion - so you will want to continue the story campaign until you get the Quest to build that, and then build it as soon as you can.

Step 2. Fully-Unlocking Mayor West

Just like with all of the other Characters that you have added to your Quahog, fully unlocking and adding Mayor West as a controllable character requires you to collect a specific set of resources. They are as follows:

  • x20 Bags of Oranges (Uncommon Resource)

    (a) Make Tricia Takanawa Interview Shoppers (Task).

    (b) Make Lois Griffin Buy Groceries (Task).

    (c) Make Brian Griffin Fact-Check on the Internet (Task).

    (d) Make Bonnie Swanson Buy Groceries (Task).

    (e) Purchase this Resource directly from Mission for 15 Clams Each.

  • x20 Sausages

    (a) Make Brian Griffin Do the Scoot (Task).

    (b) Make Joe Swanson Host a Police Cookout (Task).

    (c) Make Meg Griffin Scarf Down Hot Dogs (Task).

    (d) Purchase this Resource directly from Mission for 15 Clams Each.

  • x10 Kittens

    (a) Make Peter Griffin Roll Around with Animals (Task).

    (b) Make Jerome Grow his Fro (Task).

    (c) Make Stewie Griffin Fish for Kittens (Task).

    (d) Make Seamus be a Scratching Post (Task).

    (e) Purchase this Resource directly from Mission for 40 Clams Each.

Mayor West is the final building-attached character for you to add in the expansion of District 9 (Downtown Quahog).

Mayor West has his own series of Missions and Quests, and his own set of Custom Tasks. It is speculated that he will also have a number of Outfits added to the game later via Al Harrington's Outfitters Shop.

Mayor West is required to process the wandering Dawgs that were unleashed by Brian and Strewie rescuing Vinny from the Dog Pound. Please note that these are NOT the dog breed most commonly meant when the name "Bulldog" or Pit Bull Dog" is used.

For this resource there are in fact two (2) types of "Dawg" present in Quahog: they are the smaller brown classic Bulldog often referred to in North America as an "English Bulldog" and the smaller still and white variant that is usually referred to as the "American Bulldog." Note that neither of these two breeds are Pit Bulls.

This breed is generally considered to be determined, persistent and territorial. They do not, however, automatically eat smaller animals!

For the record the English and American breeds of Bull Dog are intelligent, caring animals who make very good pets and, as long as they are properly socialized, are perfect dogs for a home with one or more adults. They are not a good choice for a home with children - specifically small children - because they do not like to be teased. But then really who does?

Limited Time Event: ***** Stewie

The next Limited Time Special Event is one in which we get the opportunity to clone our own ***** Stewie. Seriously!

This Special Event occurs between 14 November and 18 November with very little warning (the earliest that players would be made aware of it is the evening of 13 November). The following is the official Introduction to the event:

****************************************************************************************************

Guide Image

Clone Your Own ***** Stewie

Create your own ***** Stewie this weekend! Build the ***** Stewie clone machine to get started before it's gone on Tuesday, November 18th.

  • Build Clone Machines to create ***** STEWIE and ***** BRIAN!

  • Clone Machines Create EXTRA CLONES. Tap them for Special Ingredients.

Stewie says... ***** Stewie disintegrates FIVE DDAYS after building this machine. Collect the ingrediants before he's gone!

--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--==--

Attack of the Clones

The start of this special and time-limited event is Lois - who ni the process of cleaning up Stewies' room makes a startling discovery...

Note: The Clones are spawned by the Clone Machine - if the player is willing to spend Premium Currency it is possible to increase both the number of Clones that are generated and the frequency by going through the In-Game Store and purchasing any of the following PREMIUM Items:

***** Brian in ***** Brian Machine (Cost = 175C) Instantly adds the ***** Brian Character (no collection)

Spare Clone Machine (Cost = 75C) No Character Included.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Attack of the Clones Pt. 1

Lois accidentally sets off Stewie's Clone Machine - activating a production line of Stewie and Brian Clones and how cool is that?!

1. Build the ***** Stewie Clone Machine.

2. Clear 4 ***** Stewie Clones.

3. Clear 4 ***** Brian Clones.

Note: The cost of building the Clone Machine is $1,000 and in addition to spawning clones every 2 hours it will also pay off $20 and 15 XP every 2 hours as well...

As ***** Stewie is a character the usual rules apply - meaning that we will need to seek out and collect the various resources that are part of the Mission:

  • x200 Clone DNA

  • x25 Bubble Bath Beards

  • x12 Pink To-Do Lists

As soon as you trigger the Clone Machine construction ***** Stewie is placed in the game and his timer immediately begins to tick down, starting with 4d 23h 59m so you are going to want to stay on top of the collections process.

Logging in every 2 hours would be ideal - but unless you have mates to share the responsibility with, that is probably not a practical approach!

Once the Clone Machine is active and the ***** Timer is running you should immediately spot clones of both types on the streets of your Quahog - just look for fast-moving Stewie and Brian forms. Tap them and they quite literally9 fall apart as you watch, releasing Clone DNA for you to collect!

Completing this Mission will reward you with $20, and 12 XP...

To help him prove his point, we have this series of missions!

When this part of the story line completed we were left with a notification of "To Be Continued" on the Blimp and its tower. The reason for that is that a whole bunch of content basically came in between the delay in the Blimp and Plutonium mission and the rest.

So basically we had a bunch of events and holiday content plus two new Districts to buffer what was said to be a brief delay and what we actually got - which was a long delay. Months.

You will be happy to learn that with the opening of District 10 (The Arts District) this mission is now back on.

So the blimp still needs one piece of plutonium how do we get the last one?

Yep - while the game is clearly being made by a different studio than Tapped Out since it belongs to the same parent company as an IP perhaps we can expect to see other improvements from the lessons learned there?
