Introduction

This game takes place in post-apocolyptic Washington D.C. You start out as a baby in Vault 101, and work your way to a 19 year old boy as you work your way into quite a few messes of trouble. You meet friends, enemies, and people that just randomly appear. Also, just about every move you make affects your karma, and that can dramatically change the outcome of the gameplay. You level up and get new abilities and there are limitless possibilities of what you can do. The best part is, there is downloadable content which I wont spoil what happens but it's worth the extra 10 dollars for the "Game of the Year" edition, or the 50 dollars to buy them all seperately. This game has hours and hours of gameplay and you'll want to start another story once you beat the game the first time.

Graphics

Ovreall the graphics are amazing but sometimes it lags a little or freezes for a couple of seconds, but generally it runs smoothly. The guns look amazing and when the blood pours out of the enemies, it just seems lifelike. All of the dead bodies or corpses seem so realistic that this could actually happen at some point in time. All the creatures are well developed and they all have unique sounds and looks. Every once in a while the people will have a small deformity or something, but only on a rare occasion.

Sound

The old 20's or 30's soundtrack is amazingly put together and will most likely having you learning the words and wanting to sing along the whole time. All the sounds of the guns are unique in their own ways from a .32 Pistol, to a Gatling Laser. All of the creatures have different sounds from the screech of a Feral Ghoul, to the "Click click click" of a Radroach. Sounds will never get old and will keep you on your toes when you hear that cry of an enemy nearby.

Gameplay

The gameplay runs smoothly and fluently on the small occasion of a glitch or a part where it freezes. Normally you will be able to play the game non-stop and go through it without flaw except for the small area that was just mentioned. Most likely you will love the gameplay and the controls. The controls are very easy to run actually. The tutorial in the beginning helps you quite a bit and teaches you everything you'll need to know in the game. The folks up to Bethesda didn't let you down here.

Lastability

The storyline is one of the best I have seen in all my life. This isn't a joke either. Halfway through the game, you will probably be yelling things like, "WHAT THE HECK?! NO!!! IT CAN'T HAPPEN THIS WAY!!!" But that was just me. There are a lot of main game missions that will take about 6-7 hours to complete, and then there are side missions. I'm not sure how long those will take, but they are worth the time and enjoyment. Then there is downloadable content and those will last a few hours each, so thats quite a bit of excitement there also. The main story-line and Broken-Steel (DLC) are the biggest parts of the game because the main story is replayable time and time again and will make you want to start over again right when you finish the game. Then the Broken-Steel add-on goes from where the main story left off and takes another 3 hours or so. The game just has an endless amout of possibilties and things the find and places to discover. The Lone-Wastelander is ready to take on any challenge you throw at him. You'll want to play it over and over to get different skill-point combinations and different perk combinations to see what you can do. Then trying to find all of the bobbleheads and the upgraded versions of weapons, well it can take you weeks, maybe even months! It is definetly worth the time though.

Overall

Overall, the game has it's up's and down's. Very few down's, and a Hell of a lot of up's. This game deserved the "Game of the Year" award that it got. This game will be hard to live up to and it brought a lot to the table. If I were a game producer, I wouldn't recommend dissing on this game because it is one of the greatest games ever made. It's such a versatile game that will probably be played for the next 2-5 years I would imagine.
