You get wrenches by fixing things. So use an appliance (eg tv, microwave, guitar, etc) repeatedly until it breaks. When you fix it there is a chance you earn a wrench :-)

You can also dig through trash cans to find wrenches (and rubber gloves).

You have to tap above houses and stuff but I'm not sure. I've got a great trick for money though. You know the spanner things you can get? Basically when you get 20 trade them in in the shop for a couch that costs the spanner amount. If you then sell the couch, you get thousands for simolios!!!!
