Well, to be honest, it could be both. You have to remember, the dream cast has been out for over 10 years now, so yours is probably getting old, and worn out. The game also came out a long time ago, so, it too might be having problems of it's own simply because it is old. Either that, or the Tomb Raider disc is scratched. Take out the disc, and inspect it for any grime, dirt, fingerprints, or scratches. If you see anything on it, then see if you can wipe it off, or remove the harmful substance somehow. After you do, see if it works. I also have another solution. Now, I know that this may sound far fetched, but when ever I have a game that does not work, I put toothpaste on it. Thats right, Toothpaste. It works great, and repairs my games. They start working again. All you have to do is get some on your thumb, and apply it to the disc. Try the front as well, because sometimes, there are scratched on the front of the disc as well. After you finish rubbing it around, wash it off, and try it again.]
