Contrary to the request details, you can also complete this quest by upgrading an equipment. Wyrmfire-forged equipment has a red dragon icon on them. These are the equipped items you have when you defeat the dragon. Enhancing wyrmfire equipment can be done by Barroch at a cost of a few rift crystals and some rare items only found in Bitterblack Isle.
