The upgrade path of Dan and Josie are the same, both of the Characters have six different moves that each accept anywhere from two to four upgrades apiece. Upgrading the abilities of either character will improve your chances of surving an onslaught from enemies considerably especially if you upgrade the combo and sucker punch moves. Be warned though that each upgrade level increases in cost significantly so you will need to save to be able to get them.
