Introduction

Ever thought what it would be like to be a super human cop? No, oh.. Well imagine a single person being able to clean up crime in a whole city, take down 3 different deadly gang bosses, manipulate vehicles, pick up trucks and throw it 50 feet, to be a deadly shot, jump 5 storys high and lightning reactions. Well in Crackdown, a snazzy cross between GTA, RoboCop and True Crime, you can do all that and more so go nuts in a city filled with top gangs to take down and a bustling city to take down.

Graphics

The graphics are sweet it has got to be said. With a little cartoony edge but with nice light effects and anti-aliasing, it's hard not to like this eye-candy. With no blurry textures in sight and lovely visuals from, vehicles, weapons and explosiond, I had to give it a 10, you will love them.

Sound

The sound effects of the game you can't go wrong, with explosions and gunfire effects being top notch and creating a frantic chaotic feeling to every battle. Although the music in vehicles is very bad and hardly noticable when driving around the city and the in game narrator can get mighty irratating, telling you off if you run over a civi (by accident) to praising you every time you climb your way up to a high altittude.

Gameplay

The gameplay is brilliant, period. There are 3 very different gangs to take down. The Los Muertos, the Latino gang, the Volk, the eastern europeans and the Shai-yen, obviously Asians. Each gang is split up into several gang bosses with a kingpin who is obviously the boss. You will be given info on where they are and you can go your way around taking them down, the more members you take down the less men and resources the kingpin will have when the time comes to take him out. Also the ability to upgrade your character is a very welcome addition to the game with different aspects of the character to upgrade which includes strength, agility, weapons, vehicles and explosives and all are upgrading by killing gang members in the many ways said. There are also three agency vehicles given to you at the start which are upgradable in performance and appearance, the supercar, fast and drives under other vehicles, propelling them into the air, the SUV, good manouverbility and drives over others and the Truck, slow but plows through traffics easily. With over 800 hidden orbs around the city to collect, roadraces to attempt, foot races to attempt and pleny of main achievement and sub-achievement the gameplay is spectacular and more than I expected

Lastability

Like I said the amount of orbs to collect are in abbundance and are split into 2 groups the agiliy orbs and the secret orbs. Agility orbs are not hard to find but are tricky to get to with some being on top of buildings and cliff, it will require you to find a route and upgrade your agility. The secret orbs are not necasarily hard to get to but are in unusual places, requiring alot of exploration in caves, buildings, country and city. Also with foot races and road races to keep you occupied the possibilities are abundant.

Overall

Even though with a sound score of 8 and the rest 10 I still have to give the game a ten because I don't see the sound being as important than the gameplay etc. But I have to say it, this is an awesome game and all tastes will like. And be ready for the thrills of climbing skyscrapers and having a good time with the strength you have. Cheers
