Introduction

This is my first review so I don't know what to write but I found this game a complete waste of money. I came home with my £40 flimsy disc and was generally excited about playing the game, online. What I found was a disappointment, the maps were broken and not very addictive unlike cod 6 high rise and scrap yard. I didnt even try the campaign, as I have found the campaign to be the weakest aspect of call of duty and not very engaging. Even battlefield makes better campaigns.

Graphics

The graphics are exactly the same as all the other cods out there so I wasnt pleased with that. The weapons looked similar or identical just with slightly different skins. Even the sky was just a blurish blue back drop with a few painted on grey smears and the grass was the same colour and length round the entire map. For me the graphics were a lot of copy and paste. As the walls were the same making the asthetics very bad and manouving aroung the map much more difficult.

Sound

The sound wasnt much better than the looks I'm afraid so closing your eyes while playing this game doesnt make it any better. And if you did decide to close your eyes you would find it very hard to decipher what gun was being fired as they all sound the SAME!!!
Though if you had a decent headset you could hear the enemies footsteps coming up the stairs behind you, giving you enough time to make the knife kill.

As of previous games you can just make out the gernade pull and the reload sound and the gernade launcher explosion is just a small plop in a gigantic ocean.

Gameplay

The maps werent great and straight away I found 4 campers in my first minite of playing, however the death streak juiced allowed me to run even faster and therefore die even quicker. The gameplay is much the same, you spawn, you die, you scream and turn the game off.The striker is a very overpowered weapon as with the type 95 ( a cross between the tar21 and the m16). I was disappointed with the player card as I could no longer create my own emblem but I guess we brought that onto ourselves with all the dicks I saw in black ops as emblems. However with the extremely quick respawning and the ability to customise your weapon and class the online brought some satisfaction.

Also they copied gamemodes from other games like kill confirmed where you have to collect enemy dog tags to earn kills. This game mode is from cyrsis 2. They also introduced infection, hummh this sounds similar to infection from The Halo series. But if two gamemodes stolen isnt enough they created a horde replicar with a cod feel to it. It would of been great if the screen wasnt restricted.

Lastability

To put it short the game will never last long, as long as one call of duty is pasted every year but people still continue to buy the game and you have to ask yourself how long can the series survive. I have sold my disc after only 3months of playing and I could of probably kept it longer if I wanted to put myself through the torture of the campaign and try the various gamemodes such as special ops and some other game mode like horde.

Overall

Overall it's another solid call of duty game and if your a fan of the series your not going to read this review any way because you will be too busy camping and spawn killing but if you are a fan who hasnt for some reason got the game I would advise you to go and get it or just wait 4 months for the next game, black ops two. * face palm* don't even get me started on black ops. But overall this game is still one of the best ffs but I would get battlefield instead.
