Battlefield: bad company is the first battlefield game to contain a campaign.
The rest are made for online play. This game is, mainly, but theres a campaign.
Which is basically getting you ready for online.
In the campaign, you play as preston marlow, a private demoted to 'bad company', the 222nd army battalion, where they scrape together all the misfits, and trouble makers from the army. You are teamed up with haggard, the explosives expert, sargeant redford, your sargeant, and sweetwater, the lovestrudck computer nerd.
During the first few missions, you are doing average jobs for the army. You're the first ones in, and the last out. Unil you find something worth fighting for.
The graphics are pretty good.
Especially since they used the frostbite game engine, which allows them to create destructable objects quickly.
The overall graphics were pretty good.
Nothing special, but good for a game of this size.
The sound for this game is exellent.
The guns sound very realiztic, the explosions sound realistic, and when using surround sound, the sound quality is in epic proportions.
Not much more I can say really.
Also, the voices for the characters are good.
THe gameplay is pretty neat.
Standard first person shooter.
You can blow buildings up :D
Which is fun, and a very good feature, since you don't have to run into every house to kill all the enemis, you can just blast through the house :D
You can also use a vast range of weapons. Theres over 30 weapons, plus theres a few tools that you can use to give you a hand durng the campaign.
The only drawbacks to the gameplay, is that you cannot shoot down fences and sand bags with guns. You can blow them up, but with any guns you have to walk round.
And also, the map is hidiously small. The locations of all special weapon pickups (the guns and tools you pick up are marked as a white X on the map) are very hard to find. The buildings are all white, and the X's are white. And with amap no bigger than the size of a gamecube disc, it's near impossible to tell the difference.
Battlefield games are known for onlien play.
This game will last ages online. Lots of fun.
Single player, however, doesnt last that long.
You can't play multiplayer against bots, and most of the acheivements can be attained from completing the campaign once.
I beat the campaign on easy, medium and hard within a few days.
Not hard at all.
This game will last for ages though. Online.
Overall, this is probably one of the best games I've played.
2nd best, infact.
I am hard to please when it comes to games, and this one does the trick.
I wouldnt recommend buying the game unless you have access to xbox live, as the campaign isnt long enough. Unless you play online, you'll probably play the game for a few days.
Well worth buying.
However, it might not be as popular when Gears of war 2 comes out.
I doubt many people with XBL wont be playing it.
9/10 overall
