Introduction

This game is alright. I know a lot of people frown on it because it's so different from the original Banjo-Kazooie games, but all in all, and putting that aside, it's a fun game with lots to do. Kinda like a mix between Racing and Adventure with a hint of Smash and bash in there! This game is every genre!

Graphics

This game's graphics were good, can't complain. All I have to say that downed it from a 10 is the look of parts and such. The blocks were stitched together. Actually, was anything NOT made of stitched cloth? This bugged me beyond belief. Metal, made of CLOTH. No, sir. That's quite stupid. Not to downgrade what I said was a fun game, but this game's graphics don't make sense. I don't know if this counts as graphics, but it didn't fit in the other categories and needed to be mentioned.

Sound

Sound was kinda crappy. It never was the best in the old games, but back then it was cool. Nintendo 64 had great graphics and sound for it's time, but it's been 10 or so years. Get with the program and make better sound quality! This isn't what I see in other 360 games. And HD AV cables don't change what I'm talking about. The cheap voice that sounds so scratchy is still in this game. Fix it. The scratchiness has got to go! The vehicles sound great! I would rate this at an 8-10 for the vehicles, but the voices are still scratchy. The music is okay, not really good or bad.

Gameplay

I can't give this a 10, or I'll probably be assassinated in my sleep, but it is an awesome game! Gameplay makes sense, well given. I suppose the storyline that led up to the challenge may seem kinda hokey to some people. I agree. But the game has such an immense amount of things to do, this game may be next in line with Assassin's Creed and Skyrim (although it's awfully hard to compete with Skyrim's extra-long gameplay). You gotta build, race, fight, shoot, and at times, lose some weight and catch runaway birds. Does it make sense? No. But is there a lot to do? Oh yeah! The achievements are not just by completing levels. There's so much to do on this, and it is VERY difficult on some particular levels. Banjo-Kazooie has kept this much the same. I mean, think back to Rusty Bucket Bay. That particular Jiggy was ranked the #1 most difficult game task. I don't believe any game has ever surpassed this record. And getting to Click Clock Wood was an adventure in itself. Hard and long, even 10+ years later.

Lastability

I probably basically covered this, but this game is LONG. Tons of stuff to do. This will take plenty of time for anyone to beat. I think some challenges have been so hard I'd spend over an hour trying to get past them, and leave crying because they were so hard. Well, I'm a woosie, but you get trampled by a giant car with no engine and see how you feel. It's not fun. Back on track. This game will last you a while anyway. There's enough runaway Minjos, wrongly imprisoned Jinjos, sluggish Banjos who need to slim down, police cars to shoot, gambling to do, achievements to complete, black markets to shop, in-game video games to play, jiggies to bank, and challenges to top that you can't possibly complete this game entirely in a day like too many games nowadays.

Overall

Well, I know I complained about some things that irritate me in this game. But all that aside, the game is fun to play and takes long enough that I give it an 8. It's not the sound or the graphics that make a game fun (or we wouldn't all be fighting to get Banjo-Kazooie for N64 or Xbox Live Arcade). It's all the kickin' butt and just being able to play a game for a long time without doing things that you've already done before that make me want to play a game. I know this is like the scourge of the Banjo-Kazooie games, but it's got a lot to offer and isn't a bad game in any way. People just don't like the change, but different isn't always bad. That's what I have to say about this game. Comments? Let me know what you think. Writing tips? I'll take those too. Death threats? Keep em to yourself.
