As Sequence 10
ended Desmond found himself rudely pulled out of the Animus thanks to a ransom demand made by Abstergo... It seems that they have captured Desmond's Da, and they will trade him back to us for the Apple of Eden. Like we would ever go for that deal! Cha! But on the other hand distant or not, Desmond's father is part of the team, and like the Marines we don't leave men behind in the field – so it is time to launch a rescue operation!
Real World: Taking Down Abstergo
As the mission begins Desmond walks right into the heart of Abstergo, and clearly they know that he is there! As you make your way through the lobby you are attacked, but hey, you are an Assassin and you have your Hidden Blade so you should be able to make short work of this. Heading to the lift you try it, but are told with some sarcasm how stupid that was. Well, stupid is as stupid does, and there is an access hatch in the top of the lift, so hit that and then start climbing!
The path ahead is pretty obvious – take out the guards at the top and then move through the hall, the office, and the atrium, then back in and through the door for a CS encounter with Danny Cross! Danny goes bonkers and starts running – what a nutter! You need to chase after him, taking out any guards you encounter, following him until you can take him out.
Now continue along the path to your Da – and a massive guard battle! You confront the Abstergo officer and Templar Leader and teach him why allowing you inside that building while in possession of the Apple of Eden was about as dumb a move as they could have made!
Heading into Abstergo to rescue Mr. Miles
Once the whole lot has been dealt with thanks to the Apple, you can leave – triggering a CS and unlocking the Achievement “The End is Neigh” (20G) Complete Present - Abstergo.
The next thing you see you have all made the trip back to the Temple, and since you now have the last piece to power up this beast, run all the way up the stairs to the glowing columns, climb them to the platform above, and make your way along the jump and climb path to the other platform, where you get a more complete briefing on the events that failed to save the world before, and then you can use the final power source to completely extend the walkway. Well done you!
Alright then, at this point you have done all that you can do here so head back down to the main floor and talk to everyone until you have exhausted their chat options, check your email and read any you have yet to read, and when you are done doing that, it is time to jack back into the Animus...
Once again we get a Connor monologue in which he speculates about the strategic situation and his regret that Washington chose to let Charles Lee go. Connor's father seems to have disappeared, and when we arrive back at the Homestead Manor House it is to find Achilles on his death bed.
Achilles calls for Connor and then asks him to tell what has been happening; Connor shares, and then Achilles explains that Lee and Haytham must be dealt with for once and for all. Both men must be killed if the Templar are to be stopped, and that is his final work on the matter. As Connor is leaving Lafayette appears to deliver a message, and then Connor takes him down into the secret Assassin Lair, where he briefs the Frenchman on what needs to be done.
He explains that Charles Lee must be killed, and Connor has a plan to infiltrate Fort George – with the help of the navy that is. As this CS ends you get a notice that new email has been received. Checking the map you will note that the main mission marker is on the Harbormaster here in the Homestead, and as you should have everything else wrapped up and are ready to resume the story, it is time to head there now!
Before we jump right into it I wanted to point out that you have done incredibly well maintaining the full-synchronization that you have been for as much as you have been – very well indeed.
