Buried Chests

22 treasure maps are scattered throughout the game, some in the single player campaign, while some are available in Kenway's Fleet. They will pinpoint the exact location of several Buried Chests that houses valuable items and Elite Plan Upgrades for the Jackdaw. You should have the map of a particular treasure first before you can unearth the buried chest. A marker appears in your world map showing the treasure location once you have found the map. Listed below are the buried chests in-game, together with some details regarding each one:

Find the map situated at Pinos Isle - 335, 469. Then follow the chest location in the northeastern island edge of Cayman Sound.

Go to Great Inagua - 845, 468 - for this one. This map is in a bank by a stone wall at the northwestern area. After getting the map, find the buried chest at Nassau - 633, 784, along the swamps in the west, at the back of a mansion.

Find the map in Santanillas - 217, 250. Then get the buried chest by diving underwater in San Juan - 479, 487. Follow the underwater path and head up to see two enemy guards, dispose them and head to the right of the opening leading to the chamber location.

The map is in Isla Providencia - 502, 440. Find it in the northwestern island area in a swamp. Then find the chest at Long Bay - 525, 253. Head to the eastern viewpoint, and the chest is in the beaches near the location.

Find the map first in Cape Bonavista - 179, 593. Situated in the the beach at the eastern area, this leads to the map that points to a cave on the same island, in a dead end.

This map is in Petite Caverne. Head into the cave, beating the numerous enemies along the way. Go to the right side to find the map leading you to Tulum - 70, 405. This chest is near the southern Viewpoint filled with dangerous Jaguars.

Find the map at Cumberland Bay - 679, 381. Then get the buried chest in the left of the large temple on Pinos Isle - 335, 469.

Find the map in Mariguana Island - 880, 544. Then get the buried chest on a tiny island off the southernmost edge of Andreas Island - 579, 720.

Remarks:

Locate the map in Ambergris Key - 55, 178. This is a shipwreck requiring a Diving Bell. Traverse the tunnels until reaching a huge chamber with ruins. Find the map in the northwestern chambers. It shows you to go to Misteriosa - 307, 195. This treasure chest is near the northeastern viewpoint, behind the temple.

Look for the map at Anotto Bay - 621, 277. Have a Diving Bell first. Go across the watery maze until reaching a smugglers' cavern. Find the map behind this area. This leads to Principe - 992, 422. Enter the fort first after capturing it, then head to the top. Find it in a ledge facing the buildings.

Remarks:

Find the map in Corozal - 42, 268, situated on a tiny island off the coast. Then get the buried chest at Ambergris Key - 55, 178. Swim across a tunnel at Ambergris Key, reaching the ruins in the process. Find it at the sandy areas south from here.
