When news first broke that Togedemaru was to be one of the newer Totem Pokemon included within Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, most players didn’t think it would cause them too many problems. Togedemaru doesn’t have the best of stats, and, on top of this, it is extremely weak to Ground Type Attacks. More likely than not, if you were looking to play Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, odds are you weren’t expecting Togedemaru to be that great as a Totem Pokemon. If you were one of these many types of unexpecting players - you’re certainly not the only one - you would be dead wrong in your assumptions.

As your Totem Battle with Togedemaru begins, it will have its Defense Stat raised by one stage. This might not seem that great at first, but it essentially makes Togedemaru a fast yet bulky attacker. On top of this, it makes Togedemaru fast better set to withstand the Ground Type Attacks you are looking to unleash unto it. If that’s not enough, Togedemaru has the move Spiky Shield, the same it will constantly be using to avoid being hit and allow its allies to continue to attack for it. To make matters even worse, one of the Pokemon it will call upon for help is Skarmory. If it does, whatever you do, do not try using an Electric Type Attack in hopes to defeating the Skarmory. You see, Togedemaru also has the ability of Lightning Rod, allowing it absorb any and all Electric Type Attacks you will try to use.

Don’t be surprised if it takes you a few attempts to actually defeat Totem Pokemon Togedemaru.
