Super Mario to run on to mobile

Nintendo have found great success with their recent foray into mobile gaming via the Niantic developed Pokemon spin off game Pokemon Go. But now they have taken their first full step into the mobile gaming world by developing their own game.

Again a spin off but this time of one of their most popular game franchises, Super Mario. Super Mario Run is at its heart a simple platform game and has all the familiar elements of the Super Mario world, but cleverly designed to be played on mobile devices. Game play can be achieved with single taps.

Launching first on iPhone and iPad in just a few days it is believed that the game will be brought to Android later on. The game will also feature multiplayer elements where it will be possible to compete with other players for the best runs and to collect rewards to show off your skill.

The Mario franchise is a very popular one and the game should be equally popular. It certainly will be with Mario and Nintendo fans around the world. Nintendo have stated though that their hope with the mobile games is to introduce the characters and game series to new fans and show them what nintendo has to offer. It certainly seemed to work well for them with Pokemon Go.

I am very excited to try this game when it comes out, although i will have to wait for the Android release. I hope they don't keep me waiting too long. Are you looking forward to it? If you give it a go let us know here or in the forums what you think.
