Ranking The Ten Pokemon Champions

#2) Blue

There's just something special about facing your Rival as the Pokemon League Champion that just seems so right and satisfying, as if all Games should indeed end this way. We've only been given this privilege once in Pokemon Games - back in the original Pokemon Red and Blue Games - and it really put the cap on a great game. The final showdown between your character and Blue was Legendary, and it went down in history. It was even so great that the storyline continued in the Sequel Games (Pokemon Gold and Silver).

Unlike the Rivals given in the current Anime Series and Game Series, Blue was different. He was abusive or anything to that nature towards his Pokemon; he actually was a very good trainer. But what made him different is the verbal assaults he made toward your character. He pushed you to be the best trainer you could be, and ultimately it backfired at him.

At the end of Pokemon Red and Blue, you are dealt with the difficult task of facing Blue, who just recently succeeded Lance as the Pokemon League Champion. His team is greater than ever, and his team is one of the best ones ever given to a Pokemon League Champion. Like most Champions, he has a balanced Pokemon Team that will surely break holes in your team. Lead by the Opposite Starter Pokemon, along with the Powerhouses of the Kanto Pokemon, Blue begins with the slight advantage over your team. Even with this advantage, you stay neck and neck against each other. You know him and his Pokemon well, but he can say the same for you. Devastating blows after devastating blows is dealt, and after the all the smoke clears, only the winner remains. As the story of Pokemon Gold and Silver explains, Red ultimately won.

Some may think Blue should be ranked first, and those people have a good argument. If Blue just played a slightly bigger role in games, he would be considered the best, hands down.
