Ranking The Ten Pokemon Champions

#8) Diantha

Being ranked just slightly higher in our minds as a Pokemon Champion is Diantha. Diantha really played no part in any of the storylines for Pokemon X and Y. You saw her a couple of times, but that was all. You knew she was Pokemon League Champion and could harness the power of Mega Evolutions, but that was it. She has the look and strength of a Pokemon League Champion, but she falls greatly short in regards to her character and influence. If you compare her to Cynthia, the Sinnoh League Champion, there really is no comparison. Cynthia blows Diantha out in ever single category, no doubt about it. And really if Diantha didn't have a Mega Evolution, she might have been ranked as the worst Pokemon Champions in minds. Seriously... That's really all she has going for her when compared to Iris and Alder.

But if she's so bad, then why does she rank higher than the Unova League Champions? The answer is quite simple, really. At the time of this writing (Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire), most Pokemon Fans believe a sequel to Pokemon X and Y will be released, either in the form of Pokemon Z or Pokemon XZ and Pokemon YZ. Whatever the case may be, the Games will most likely have a sequel and Diantha could have a second chance at fulfilling her Pokemon League Champion duties. If the Creators once again fail to establish her character and influence in the storylines, then Diantha could go down as the worst Champion in Pokemon History. But if they can suddenly change her image around and give her a bigger role in the upcoming games, then who's to say she can't even rank higher than this. Everything will soon be revealed, and until that time, we feel this is the proper place for this Pokemon Champion.
