And here he is! The man who we feel is the Greatest Pokemon Champion of All-Time! Steven!

Steven was the original Pokemon League Champion of the Hoenn Region. His character had a number of different depths, all coming together to make the best Pokemon Champion. Steven is a bright young man, the son of intelligent researcher, who is intrigued in the origin of the Hoenn Region. He is fascinated by Groudon, Kyogre, and Rayquaza, and how their legacies came to be in Hoenn Region.

Your character meets Steven relatively early in each of the games, and he is found along the way with key information for your character. He plays a key role throughout his game, and gives that substance to the games that is needed. He is everything in character that a Pokemon Champion should be, but you have to have more in order to be a great Champion. What you need is to be a great trainer with this character, and Steven has just that.

He has one of the better teams among the Pokemon Champions, being right up there with Blue, Lance, and Cynthia. His team is lead by his awesome Metagross (later Mega Metagross), and also includes the powerhouses of Aggron, Skarmory, Claydol, Cradily, and Armaldo. His team is packing serious firepower, along with incredible bulky defenses. His Pokemon have the defensive stats to take your blows, and then return fire with even greater power. Many trainers fell victim to Steven and his Pokemon.

Every Champion has had some sort of set back to their character, and Steven is no exception to this. The only problem with Steven is his character didn't make a return in Pokemon Emerald. Wallace was sufficient for the job, but Steven was clearly the better of the two. But even with set back, Steven's greatness shines through and prevails him as the best Pokemon Champion.
