It promises excitement, thrill, suspense and adrenaline rush all through as soldiers fight tooth and nail to save humanity from alien invasion. Since aliens are equally determined to destroy earth, here are our top tips to help you navigate the treacherous terrain and outwit aliens to keep your highly valued but vulnerable soldiers alive.

Plan a Quick Ambush

XCOM 2 has a feature called concealment that entails the troops staying away from the field of vision of the aliens to prevent the latter from attacking them. While this tactic could work, it is quite hard as the aliens will hear the sound of the troops moving and attack them. To prevent an attack in such a situation the troops will have to stay in one place and if you are lucky you will enjoy three tums until they get to you. If you are quick you will be able to slip right past them.

A tip that could work better at this point will be to plan a quick ambush where you attack with grenades into a group of aliens and do as much damage as possible. Alternatively, you can use your sharp shooters especially those found at higher rank as well. Next, ensure your squad has the bets vision of the kill zone. You should keep some of them in overtwatch where they will see and fire at the enemy when they take cover. Some actions should remain in reserve as well. You are more likely to hit higher if you do not take a reaction shot. Special abilities can damage more as compared to standard attacks. After dealing with the first cluster, the other aliens will not come out willingly but once you reveal their whereabouts they will come out fighting so you should be ready to fight back.

Tactical Withdrawal

When you realize that your soldiers are overwhelmed, the best move to make is a hasty withdrawal. It is much easier to get the choppa in ZCOM2 as compared to the other games and all you have to do is to hit he button found on the right hand corner of the screen so that the Firebrand can come for you. Roping from the area of combat is free. Just ensure your troops are in the games nine-square grid, then hit the third option in your action bar and you will be out of the battle range.

After securing the objective of the mission you will get another task; to kill every alien on the map. If you can move the objective and your soldiers are being carried away, you can wind up operations for now. Just get your troops and goods into your Firebrand and leave the Dodge.

Do Not Hack Everything you Meet

People are usually advice to hack everything they encounter along the way. You should, however know that if blow a hack you may lose concealment. Attempt a hack once you have lost your concealment. In those moments you can hack turrets and robots.

Embrace the Proving Grounds

The proving Grounds provide a way of upgrading your firepower. They will boost you in preparation to bridge the gap between the later, magnetic and conventional plasma weapons. Although you will study experimental munitions, there is no guarantee that you will get. Almost all the missions in XCOM 2 have timers which require you to be at the designated places when the time is over. To ensure you are on time, you should keep moving. However, you can trade off because if you go to far you may alert another cluster of aliens who will attack you and overwhelm you.

Your soldiers will come with a grenade at the beginning of the game, use it to your advantage. This is because after helping to level your rookies and killing weaker enemies, they will carry more grenades and go on to produce earth- shattering explosions. The large explosions are ideal for killing many enemies at once. It is especially great if you use them for a first attack or during concealment. Grenades can be useful for stripping powerful enemies of their armor as well. You can take carry two grenades on every mission.

Embrace Engineers

Another great tip is to recruit engineers who will work alongside scientists to help in research and construction of new technology and weapons. Scientists can help in speeding up the research. Engineers, on the other hand, are more valuable and versatile in addition to being a great asset when digging out the new rooms and staffing some rooms. A good example is when you have engineers in power generators will increase their power output. If you have engineers at medical centres will ensure that the solders get good treatment and recover quickly in time for a new battle.
