The Top 10 Most Challenging Achievements: Xbox One

09. Tomb Raider DE: Deadeye (20G) Shoot 10 enemies off zip lines

Thanks to a common misunderstanding about the Deadeye Achievement, at first blush it qualifies as one of the more frustrating and annoying Achievements on Xbox One - largely due to the fact that there are certain rules that apply to it that were not shared by the wizards who made the game - and this Achievement.

Initially Deadeye was presumed to be bugged - a lot of players reported killing 20, 30 and more enemy off of ziplines and not unlocking it - others reported that the game only contained ten guys in total in the Shanty Town section, a myth that caused a lot of gamers to limit their attempts to those two Shanty Town areas, adding a layer of frustration to the process.

The video below presents the Shanty Town focused solution for completing the Achievement during the campaign:

Through a process of trial and error - and comparing experiences among players - it was worked out that when you shoot the first enemy off af a zipline it starts the counter, and after you kill nine more, it unlocks the Achievement - unless you reset the counter that is.

Resetting the counter happens if you die or fast travel - which is how so many players gathered the impression that the Achievement was bugged. Reloading a checkpoint ALSO resets the counter.

Another myth-conception was that the Achievement could only be unlocked during the story mode campaign.

It was widely believed that if you finished the story without unlocking the Achievement you were SOL.

Thanks to MotoGril and her post-campaign solution we now know that the Achievement is easily doable after the story is completed - and in fact her solution qualifies it as fun, entertaining, and challenging -- and thus earns it a place in this list!
