02. Yuna (Final Fantasy X)

In creating a Top 10 Video Game Girlfriend article there was never any question but that Yuna would make the list - the real question was where she would appear on it!

The Daughter of High Summoner Braska, Yuna is at once one of the most attractive and well-known of all of the FF Girls - or should that be FF-Women? - and for good reason.

The female protagonist and deuteragonist of Final Fantasy X, Yuna was also the main protagonist for its sequel, Final Fantasy X-2, and while there is that unfortunate matter of her relationship with Tidus, we like to think of her as genuine girlfriend material anyway!

Her signature outfit consist of a purple pleated, flower-patterned dress, black boots, and a black spaghetti-string camisole worn under a white sash. This is finished off with a yellow patterned obi and a decorative obidome, with a pair of kimono-like sleeves that complete the outfit and her appearance.

Her shoulder-length brunette hair seems to set off her mismatched eyes - her left eye is blue, while the right is green - and an eclectic collection of jewelry both screams individuality and at the same time demonstrates good taste - figure that one out!

In terms of personality Yuna has a combination that is rather difficult to beat: she is at once kind-hearted and loyal, honest with herself and you, and may even be too polite at times.

While she is the consummate warrior, even while she is in the process of kicking your ass she still finds the strength to regret the necessity to do so.

Like most summoners, Yuna tends to hide her feelings - especially those of fear and sadness - but in private when things get, um, personal, she has no trouble at all expressing her feelings - and needs.

While she is willing to carry others' burdens and sacrifice everything she has to destroy Sin, when it comes time for her to commit a little sin of her own, she is just as willing!

Yuma embraces the notion that a woman should be a lady in the parlor, a cook in the kitchen, and a harlot in the bedroom - but she manages to do so without it seeming cheap.

If you find that offensive, consider this: in just a brief two years following her victory over Sin, Yuma was transformed into a very different outward being who was nevertheless true to herself; that new revealing dress style and more adventurous personality simply amplified what was there all along, and yeah, too cool by half!
