The Top 10 In-Game Easter Eggs: Pokemon Series

05. Foreshadowing Easter Eggs

The world of Pokemon is a mysterious place, and we are not just talking about the Legendary Pokemon here! Did you know that scattered throughout the games in every generation there are trainers and NPCs who have Second Sight and can see into the future? It's true!

Examples of these Second Sight Easter Eggs includes:

In Generation I

The girl outside of the Rock Tunnel tells you “There should be pink one with a floral pattern” - a decade later in Generation V the Pokemon Munna appears - a pink Pokemon with a floral pattern!

In Generation III

A Scientist at Devon Corporation tells you that he is working on a machine that visually reproduces the dreams of Pokemon.

In Generation V the Pokemon Dream World machine has been invented and appears as part of the game - Dream World being the visual reproduction of Pokemon Dreams!

In Generation V

A trainer riding on a bicycle in the desert near Reversal Mountain tells you “Riding a Bicycle is fine, but I want to ride away on a Pokemon!”

In Generation VI the ability to ride Pokemon was added to the games!

Generation VI

In Pokemon X & Y there is a trainer who tells you: “The Kalos region is nice and all, but you've really got to check out my region!” he says.

“Where is it, you ask? Well, I can tell you that it's not Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, or even Unova!”

This trainer is foreshadowing the region for the next generation of the series. If you keep talking to him, eventually he gives you a special ornament from his region - the description for which is: “An ornament depicting a Pokemon that is venerated as a protector in some region far from Kalos.”
