With 2014 now fully loaded, it's time to finally sink our teeth into some of those next gen games we've been eyeing up for so long. January was the buffer month to both give us time to get through big holiday releases and get ready for new ones. Still, that period has run its course, so now multiple blockbusters need to clog our shiny new machines. Since it can be hard to choose what game to spend hard-earned money on, this list of the 10 best games anticipated in 2014 should help. It was drafted from a shortlist with at least twice that number. It's going to be a good year.
10. Destiny (PS3, PS4, 360, Xbone)
There are still tons of massively multiplayer online (MMO) games releasing in 2014, as if there's such a need for it. None are quite as ambitiously molding as Destiny though. For the first-person shooter fan, this giant and intensely dynamic universe is already a certainty, but its real kicker is that it does more. Its futuristic setting doesn't limit any fantasy elements and so overwhelming legions of aliens can be lambasted with magical forces. Also, there's loot and random events brought by drop ships. If Guild Wars 2 and Borderlands had a baby, it would be a lesser version of this masterpiece.
