Top 10 Most Anticipated Games of 2014
With 2014 now fully loaded, it's time to finally sink our teeth into some of those “next gen” games we've been eyeing up for so long. January was the buffer month to both give us time to get through big holiday releases and get ready for new ones. Still, that period has run its course, so now multiple blockbusters need to clog our shiny new machines. Since it can be hard to choose what game to spend hard-earned money on, this list of the 10 best games anticipated in 2014 should help. It was drafted from a shortlist with at least twice that number. It's going to be a good year.
10. Destiny (PS3, PS4, 360, Xbone)
There are still tons of massively multiplayer online (MMO) games releasing in 2014, as if there's such a need for it. None are quite as ambitiously molding as Destiny though. For the first-person shooter fan, this giant and intensely dynamic universe is already a certainty, but its real kicker is that it does more. Its futuristic setting doesn't limit any fantasy elements and so overwhelming legions of aliens can be lambasted with magical forces. Also, there's loot and random events brought by drop ships. If Guild Wars 2 and Borderlands had a baby, it would be a lesser version of this masterpiece.

Im very suprised and happy that X made no. 1 on the list. Im glad it didnt go to another shooter or something that has been butchered to death but why is that weird ps4 game on the list? I expected Thief to be on the list or at least No Mans Sky.
I can actually answer the TESO omission, for once. It was originally pegged between the top 10, but the requirements of both a full release purchase and a heavy $15/month subscription, on top of a fragmented release (Imperials), have ultimately seen it be dropped in favor of others, like Destiny, who doesn't treat its users in that way.
