I was a freight pilot back in the 80's and stuck out of town all day... So I spent a lot of time in the arcade in the mall. I think PAC-LAND is *THE* most challenging video game I have ever played. I became friends with the manager (I was there 5 days a week) and after playing it for a week+ we realized, that this was going to be just about impossible to complete. When ROBOTRON and Stargate/Defender, and Missile Command were all being "rolled over" no one was going to do that to Pac-Land. We went into the test mode and saw that there were at least 99 levels. I think we had managed to work through about 10. (Trip 7)

40 years later, I decided I wanted to get another crack at this monster, so I started looking to buy one... HAH... Not many for sale. Then I accidentally found that NAMCO had released several CD's of games and sure enough PAC-LAND was on NAMCO museum # 4. I went through the whole dance of learning about Play Station and what it will and will not play... But as it turns out... NAMCO Museum #4 will play on PS-2 (NOT PS-1 or PS-3) and after some serious disappointments in home versions of arcade classics... I am VERY pleased to say that PAC-LAND plays EXACTLY the same as the arcade version. The warps are there, the credits, rewards... All there.

The bad news... NAMCO Musuem #4 is no longer available to my knowledge... HOWEVER... You can still find it on EBay... But be prepared for $40-$50 for that disk. For me, it was worth it... This game is so MEAN... And hard... I will play it for years, and I will never beat it.. But I am going to try and get as far as I can.

I got it years ago as well on ps1 the only flaw I noticed was at the end of each level you couldn't get a 7650 bonus I made an ISO image of the disc and can now play it on an emulator. Played it in the arcade 32 years ago but now back playing it but I'm nowhere near as good as I was, more practice i guess.
