New Year's Day

Just like in previous Animal Crossing games, there is a New Year's Day event, which is held on the 1st of January. As soon as you start the game in your town, you will see you have some mail. This is mainly New Year's mail, which will include 10,000 bells from your mum/mom. Throughout the day special music is played in town & in Main Street. In the plaza, there will be a face cut-out standee with 4 spaces, & Isabelle will be there. If you talk to her she will give you a zodiac horse. On this day the town hall will be closed; as Isabelle is outside of the hall & cannot assist you with mayor work.

New Year's Day is a truly special day, as the music played is only played once every 365 days, & the holiday is also only celebrated once every 365 days. Missing this holiday will be a major letdown, & should be avoided, or you will miss out on this joyous, fun holiday.
