You can always return and farm previously completed levels if you want to get more money.
Make sure you efficiently reload weapons by letting your character reload one bullet before shooting, if you do not do this and shoot before reloading one bullet you will reset the timer.
Make sure you take into acount range and effectiveness when switching between weapons for a particular situation.
Don't waste your explosives, try to only use them when necessary or when they can inflict multiple kills.
The shotgun is effective for multiple kills, to increase the amount of damage it inflicts aim somewhere bwetween a cluster of monsters.
Avoid buying weapons or explosives as these will naturally become unlocked as you complete levels. It is more beneficial to save your coins for upgrades.
