I don't know of any solutions to getting a 'free' carpenter. The quickest and easiest way to earning lots of dosh without any hassle is by forwarding the date and time by going into settings> general> date and time then moving it forward to suit your needs. Open the app back up again and your money should fly up depending how far forward you moved the time.
If you want more money you can make them "work on career" then change the date to a year then you have OVER $2000😬
Do not ever, ever, do the date/time cheat! I have over $50,000 just by praising them three times over and over. Generation 45 and I've never seen a carpenter, tho. :( don't think they're real.

1. Drag your person to where they work so it says working on career
2. Praise them 3 times (it will say stop nagging)
3. When they are running away, drag them back to where they work, and do the same thing 9 more times
4. After doing it 10 times, drag them to where they work, and only praise them 2 times
5. Close the app
6. Go to settings>General>date&time, and fast forward it to a day ahead
7. Open the app and find that they got a promotion, and you have even more money
