How do I mine and collect redstone? I've already tried diamond, iron, stone, and wooden pickaxes and all the other weapons

In Minecraft: Pocket Edition (Mcpe), Redstone is obtainable in survival mode with an iron pickaxe. However, Mcpe apps with updates before 0.8.0 do not have redstone dust implemented. In 0.8+, redstone can be used to craft compasses, clocks, and powered rails. Redstone mechanics will not be implemented until 0.9.0 in the first half of 2014, somewhere around April or June.
