Introduction

Adventure Quest Worlds is a free online MMORPG. The main objective is to kill the 13 lords of chaos while completing quests, killing monsters, and getting powerful equipment. Membership and adventure coins can be bought to unlock more content ingame.

Graphics

The graphics in the game are fairly good when set to the highest setting.
The animation, however, can get laggy if you log on to a almost full server and fight something. Usually, unless you have a really fast computer, you will have to lower your graphics setting on a full server to reduce the lag.

Sound

With the recent addition to music to many areas throughout the game, the background sound is pretty good. The sound effects are ok. There aren't many sound effects in the game, and all weapons, regardless of their type have the same attack sound effect.

Gameplay

The gameplay is alright, but there isn't much strategy involved. Basically, you just select a monster, attack it, and spam with abilities. There isn't any real order to use those abilities to make them more effective, unless they are healing abilities. Most of the regular monster are easy to defeat. Bosses, however, are very challenging. Unless with a healing class, you have a very low chance of killing a boss the same level as you. Even though you can fight bosses with others, it is difficult to even find someone who can help you defeat a boss.
Any piece of normal equipment in the game(weapons, helmets, capes) don't have any difference in power. The way you increase your equipment's power is by enhancements. Enhancements are really easy to get. Doing a hard quest to get a weapon won't make that weapon stronger than weapons you can get off a level 1 monster as long as they have the same enhancement.
Quests, like quests from almost any other MMORPG are just either quests where you have to kill a specific amount of a monster, or a quest where you have to gather a specific amount of an item. The quest system isn't anything special either. It just tells you what rewards you will get and why you are doing this quest.

Lastability

The game starts out with really quick battles and quests requiring you to only kill 1 or 2 monsters, but that gradually increases. Eventually, monsters will take quite a while to defeat and resting in between battles also take a while, which can be boring. Quests which require you to gather items from enemies are usually the most tedious, some with less than a 1% chance to drop.
Leveling up also takes a long time after a few levels. Monsters and quests don't give much exp compaired to how much you need to level up. In the mid level 20's, you need to kill about 200-400 monsters at your level. In level 30-40, you will need to kill 400-800 monsters your level to level up per level. This quickly increases, which can make you loose intrest quickly.

Overall

Adventure Quest Worlds is fun and easy at first, However I find it looses the player's intrest after 10 or 20 levels. The game itself doesn't differ much from any other MMORPG. Its music is the only thing that retains player intrest in the later levels. Its graphics aren't much better than any other game either.
