Super Mario Maker for Nintendo 3DS Cheats and Tips

The editing feature becomes available when you have obtained both Goomba and Bowser medals for a course you want to use.

When you first start a game not all the course elements will be available. Elements are unlocked by clearing each world in the Super Mario Challenge. 2-3 new items will be unlocked each time you unlock a world, these items can then be added to your custom levels.

When you complete the Super Mario Challenge clearing ALL 18 worlds you will be informed that if you collect 40 or more medals you will be able to do the Expert levels. When you reach 40 medals, W19-1 will be unlocked in Coursebot which consists of 12 levels where each new one will unlock when the previous one has been completed.

When you complete the Super Mario Challenge without having to use an assist item you will be rewarded with a 'piece of edamame' which is a special icon that will appear in the upper right of your profile screen in Course World.
