Inventory full but I need to move?

Question for The Sims 3

Inventory full but I need to move?

So, I am playing Sims3 for the nintendo 3ds. I am ready for my husband and wife to move out of their first home and into a new one. I put some things into the inventory so I could take it to my new home, but after a few items (and items I already had in my inventory because I bought them) it said "Inventory full" and to try selling items or putting them on the lot.

I don't get the "on the lot" part. I tried putting my table on my lawn...and then moving. Nothing. If my inventory is full, how can I move to a new bigger location and still keep all my stuff?

I don't want to have to sell the stuff in my inventory just so I can have room to put the furniture in my house inside the inventory. I bought some really cool paintings and chairs and things because I wanted them in my new house. But I want to keep the things in my house now but I only put in like...4 chairs, my treadmill and a table and then it said "inventory full"

Can someone help me?

Also: are there unlock-able things? I was reading a review somewhere (sims wiki I think) and it said you could unlock new locations or something.

You need to decide what you really want in your new house. If you bought anything from Buy Mode you can buy it back once you move. Remember, there will be the kitchen and bathroom need in the house you move into and other things. I would keep the unusual stuff in your inventory, like things you might of bought from the Lost Llama Shop or something. If you have any books in your inventory , take them out and put them all in a book case then just put the book case in your inventory to make more room. Hope it helped! And by the way... You Are Awesome!! You asked this question on my birthday! February 20TH!!! YAY! Good luck on your new home!
