You go to the friend list(on the menu,not in mii plaza,and touch REGISTER FRIEND.Then you write your friend's code and his/her name.Then the person that you wrote his/her code,has to write your code to be friends!

You can add friends my going onto the main menu of the DS and clicking the smiley face, which is the friends list. There should be a "Register friend" button. Click on it. Enter their friend code and their name. They should be friended. Keep in mind that they have to friend you back.
Mine is "0190-5377-1807"
