Question for Nintendogs + Cats: Golden Retriever & New Friends

Does your dogs physique effect how it performs in competitions? My dog is plump and he dosen't do to well in comps. He dosen't run fast at all he just trotts and then sits down. We practice the competitions all the time and he is only in the master class for disc and lure. He is in the nintendogs cup for obedience but he isn't good in other comps.

A dog's optimal physique is labeled "ideal"
And though I haven't tested it personally, I read that physique does in fact effect contest performance. A plump or overfed dog may not do as well as an ideally fit dog.
To fix this and get your dog back into shape, feed him or her diet food and walk him or her regularly until the physique shows to be ideal.

I am not sure, but I keep my dogs skinny or optimal if I use them for competitions. My dog won the nintendogs cup in lure and disc.

Skinny and plump can both effect the dog's performances. If your dog is plump, feed itdiet food until it is optimal. If it is skinny, feed it wet food until it is optimal. If it is optimal, feed it dry food or fine food. Also, you might not be giving the dog enough excersise. Try and fit in two walks a day with at least one visit to the park.
