Does anyone know a really quick and easy way to collect gold without continuing through the levels? I really want to upgrade my vacuum quickly so I can defeat the ghosts easily.

The fastest way to get coins is to zap animals with your flashlight instead of vacuuming them up. They explode into coins that way, even though vacuuming them up does seem slightly more satisfying somehow...
What I do is run through a-1 lots of times in the room with the key on the fan you can find a golden bone witch is worth 200 gold
