is it possible to get a free house expansion?
Well whilst I was playing animal crossing new leaf I just went to get my house expansion and tom nook said youre full loan is 198,000+ bells but I can't afford it I only have about 56,000 bells so if you know how to get a free house upgrade answer to this question thanks.

You can pay off your loan over a very long period of time, so just say yes and pay it off bit by bit (at the Post Office) when I extended I had even less than you

No, you have to pay your mortgages. You can't get them paid off for free. If you need the bells, you could always go beetle hunting, duplicate bells or do the Abyss Farming Glitch when there are beetles in your town.

Sometimes if it's rare a glitch will happen so when you ask tom nook to expand your house he will say that the money needed is 0 bells.it's weird but barely everr happens

It's happened to me, and it's totally true!

No. But pay it off a little bit at a time, chip away at your payment. You will have it paid off sooner than you think if you do it this way. And until you want to expand it even more, you don't really need to pay it off!

-pay home loan and make sure your not living in a tent
-save and quit then reopen the game
-Isabelle will introduce you to Tortimer (the old mayor)
-go to the beach and talk to Tortimer
-wait a day (or time travel)
-talk to Capp'n who will be in a boat waiting for you on the beach's docks
-Pay him 1,000 bells
-He will start singing (press b over and over again till he stops)
-Land on the island
Make sure it's 7pm or over
-Get an axe, shovel and net from Lloid
-Cut the trees and bushes and plants ect. That are in the middle
-Return the axe and shovel to Lloid
-Run around the middle and wait for beetles to appear
-Put them in the box inside the house thingy
-Get more beetles
-Go back to town
-Sell all the beetles to Reese
-You'll get about 100,000-200,000 bells once you sell everything
-Do this over and over a gain to have I've a million bells
-Enjoy your rich life!

You can’t but there’s no time limit for paying the expansion off, you don’t start paying till after it’s done and can take as long as you need to repay it
