You get music from Nookling Junction when it is upgraded fully. Most people just wait for it but, you could set the date/time to your birthday or "Time Travel" as people call it and just hope that you get a Music Disk as a present.

You want detailed. I'll give you detailed.
There are 2 ways to get music.
1. Whenever you unlock Club LOL, every Saturday night K.K. Slider performs songs from 8pm until midnight. If you listen to a song, he will give you a copy of it to take home. Note: You can only receive 1 song every week.
2. When you upgrade Timmy & Tommy's store to T.I.Y or higher, they will sell music for 3,200 bells a song. T.I.Y sells 1 song a day while T&T Emporium sells 2 songs a day.
