I can't seem to decorate my house good enough to get a really awesome score. What is the best way I can do that?

You get more points for a Matching set. For example, if in one room you can put all of the Cabin furniture then you'll get a large bonus. The flooring and the wallpaper counts towards a set.
Things like trophies and lucky items will add extra points. Something like the Four Leaf Clover will give you 7777 points.
Fish and insects don't give many points, so avoid them unless you have open room (or really want a pet).
If you can load each room with a different complete set, you'll get more points. Keep in mind though, that your basement won't be rated.

The best way you can get a high HHA score is to have a Matching series and some rare items. If you have the full set of a series, you will get even more HHA points.
