So, you have a Poke Radar, but you can't use it because of an error message. Now what? Well, first, you CANNOT use roller skates while using the Radar. Use the D-Pad (The arrows below the joystick) to walk normally. Then go into a patch of grass still walking. Select the Poke Radar from the bag. You will see some patches of grass rustling. Walk into the rustling grass and a Pokemon will appear! After the battle, more grass will shake. Keep walking into the patches and eventually there will be a chain of Pokemon of the same species. After 40 or more battles, eventually a SHINY Pokemon will appear! (Note: If the music is more upbeat, the chances of finding shinies will be higher.) (Another Note: Some rustling grass will not have pokemon. Be careful, because this will break up your chain reaction!)
