The three fastest racers are bowser , metal mario , and honey queen . Choose one of them. Select the Zucchini or B-dasher car. Also choose the gold or slick tires. Then choose the Swooper or the beast type of glider. Those together equal the fastest speed possible. For bowser and honey queen, the weight is a lot, and handling low. For metal mario, handling really high, weight really low.

In luigi's mansion, you can find a hidden ramp to activate your glider. It is hidden in the cemetery on your left(in mirror mode right) after you exit mansion and also before the bogs(muddy parts) that is why there is a patch of coins floating above the fence on your right(in mirror mode left).

When your racing, go close behind another racer to gain boost and then you go faster.

If you have a bullet bill and you KNOW there is a shortcut ahead, go to the shortcut then use the bullet bill. The bullet bill takes the longest way but at a fast speed. It skips ALL shortcuts. You can use the bullet bill to knock out others.

You can throw items forward by going up on the circle pad and throw items behind you by pressing down and using item. Really simple once you do it a lot.

In cheep cheep lagoon course, there is a hidden path right before your first dive. And I mean literally on your right. U dive on the right(caution!there will be a bottomless pit on your right soon!).another path is the one that has the glider ramp. Though I'm not going into detail because it's obvious. The paths I'm going to talk about are the ones that are on either side of it. Most likely you will accidentally land in these(because most of you might just want the glider ramp but people knock you into these paths). These paths both have item boxes though.

If you have trouble with races, go to time trial. Select to face with nintendo studios or retro studios. Follow them to learn the ways of the track and shortcuts. If you see other choices from spotpass or streetpass that are faster, follow them for a faster time. Then you can become good at your races. (online vs can also help for learning)

On daisy hills, there is a ramp not easily seen because of the flowers around it. U can easily find it in 150cc because other players use it. That's how I found it anyways.

When you have a blue shell, you should wait for people to move close together. Since the shell hits whoever is in your way, you can hit lots of opponents at once and you could be put in the lead

Whenever you have boosts or stars you can drive through grass, dirt, or others without you slowing down. In time trial, do this once a lap if you can make it. You should know if you are underwater, diving in other terrains does not slow you down.

(This works best for Ace players who are very good at the game)

If your opponents have lightning or a blue shell is approaching you, use this item to save yourself from the one attack.

In dk jungle course there is a not-so-hidden glider ramp.it is at the part with mud and frogs. U will see a wooden path leading to the ramp on your left. If you do it correctly and timely you can get the speed boosts up ahead and still not land until about before the last boost.

For this glider ramp in dino dino jungle, it is, like dk jungle, not-so-hidden. In the cave before the first glider ramp, is another one that leads to it. The path leading to this ramp is covered with mud, so I recommend a mushroom boost. If you descend carefully you can get the other glider ramp without landing.

To unlock your mii win all cups in a class. Then you should see mii as a player.

When you get a Lightning Bolt, Blue Shell, Star Power or a Bullet Bill, hold onto the item for a while then use it when you think would cause a lot of damage.
(Note: Blue shell should not be used in first unless you are on teams as it will hit you instead)

(Practice your timing for this one)
It works well for low acceleration vehicles.

To win this you can choose either your mii of mario and any thing eles but the for wheels you must choose those relly tiny wheels

My recommendation is a small character with roller wheels and the royal ribbon.
This gives you excellent acceleration and handling which makes taking tight turns to save time and recovering from attacks much easier.
