When you hold a strong item, (Bullet Bill, Lightning, Blue Shell, Gold Mushroom, Star Power, Triple Mushroom) hold the item as long as you can.

Next step varies on item held

Attack Item - Bullet Bill, Lightning, Star Power, Blue Shell

This will be used to disrupt your competition just before the finish line.

Run down your opponents for a sudden change of place at the finish.

Defensive Item - Golden Mushroom, Triple Mushroom, Bullet Bill, Star Power

This will be used to short-cut for a fast finish.

Use the item/s and make great use of the short-cuts and catch your opponents off guard.
