How to Register Friends

You can Add Friends on your Nintendo 3DS system to see if they are online, what their status message is, what game they are playing and many more.

How to Register a Friend

1. From the Home menu, tap the orange smiley face on the top of the screen. This is called the Friend List icon.





2. On the upper portion of your touch screen, select Register Friend. There are two ways in registering a friend: Local or by Internet






Locally



3. If you chose Local, make sure that your friend also does the same. The 3DS will search for nearby systems who chose Local as well





4. Select your friend's friend card to initiate connection.


5. After the exchange has been completed, your friend is now registered



Internet



6. If you chose Internet, you will be asked to enter the friend code of the person that you would like to register.





7. After entering a valid friend code, you will be asked to enter the name of the person you would like to register as a friend. Enter your friend's name then select "OK".


8. Your friend must also register your code to complete





9. Once your friend also adds your friend code you will receive a message stating that your friend has fully registered
