How to Delete Data From the Nintendo 3DS

Notes:

• The following built-in applications can't be deleted or removed from the Home menu.

• If you delete a game or application downloaded from the Nintendo eShop, its associated save data will be permanently deleted as well. You must create a back up prior to deletion if you don't want to retain your data



• If you deleted games or applications downloaded from Nintendo eShop, they can be downloaded again at no extra cost



• The save data of retail games (cartridges) will be stored on their cartridges and therefore won't be affected by deleting the data in your 3DS


If you want to delete everything or restore the 3DS to its factory default, just format it.

Deleting 3DS data

1. From the Home menu, tap System Settings then select Data Management.






2. Select Nintendo 3DS.
   
   




• Tap Software if you want to delete a game or application





• Tap Extra Data if you want to delete the associated save data
  
  
  
  



3. Select the data you want to delete.



4. Tap "Delete Software and Save Data" or "Create Save-Data Backup and Delete Software."



5. Tap "Delete" again to proceed with deletion

DSi Ware

1. From the Home menu, tap System Settings then select Data Management.






2. Select DSiWare.
   
   




• Tap System Memory if you want to delete a game or application


• Tap SD Card if you want to delete the associated save data
  


3. Select the data you want to delete.



4. Tap "Delete" again to proceed with deletion
