You'll find the estimate battery life of the 3DS and the 3DS XL. These figures can be shorter depending on the what functions your 3DS is used for. Screen brightness and wireless communication also play major factors in the device's battery life.

  • DS software: 3-8 hrs

  • Sleep mode: 3 days

Charge Time


According to Nintendo, it takes around 3 1/2 hours to fully charge the battery while it's off. The charge can be shorter especially if the system is not fully drained or critically low when it is charged. The system can be used while it is charging however this will increase the charging time.
